Job progression

Level two preferred jobs first

Focusing job experience on two jobs you use makes mission clears contribute directly to a practical build.

PC / Global with Season Pass missions
WHERE & HOW TO FARM

Where to farm

Accessible main or side missions, with the target jobs equipped in the two active job slots.

Job experience is earned through combat while a job is equipped. This makes ordinary mission progression a useful proficiency loop: equip the jobs you want to develop, use them in combat, and review their trees after a clear. Mission gear may also support those jobs. Optional missions can unlock advanced jobs, but this guide does not assume a particular job or require leveling every job at once.

How to farm

Before you go

  • Unlock the jobs you intend to develop.
  • Have an available mission appropriate to your current equipment.
  • Equip the target jobs before combat so their proficiency can advance.
  1. Choose two preferred jobs in the Job menu based on the roles you want in your build.
  2. Equip suitable weapons and job actions for those jobs.
  3. Select a manageable mission and check whether it also provides gear or progression rewards you need.
  4. Fight through the mission using the equipped jobs so they gain combat experience.
  5. Complete the stage and check each job’s level and tree for available unlocks.
  6. Review drops for job-associated gear or affinity that improves the same loadout.
  7. Repeat with the same jobs until a desired unlock is available, changing jobs only when the mission requires it.

Farming tips

  • Use optional side missions when you need to unlock advanced jobs; check their objective and reward details first.
  • Keep a second job you can rely on if the first struggles against a particular encounter.

Repeat, collect and use

Combat experience is repeatable on missions while the jobs are equipped. Job unlocks or mission-specific rewards may be limited; the experience loop itself can continue.

Common mistakes

  • Expecting an unequipped job to gain the same combat experience; put the target jobs in active slots.
  • Switching jobs constantly before they progress; keep the preferred pair equipped for consistent gains.
  • Ignoring mission difficulty to chase job experience; use a route you can clear safely.

When to stop or switch

Stop focusing on a job once it reaches the level or tree unlock you wanted, then rotate in another job or pursue a specific mission reward.
