Magnetite

Collect Magnetite for fabrication and upgrades. The Jellyshroom Cave provides an earlier seabed search, while the Lost River is a deeper alternative.

WHERE & HOW TO FARM

Where to farm

Jellyshroom Cave floor and ledges; Lost River cave floor as a deeper alternative.

Magnetite appears as exposed pieces on cave floors and ledges, so you can collect it without a drill. Search the Jellyshroom Cave first if your equipment can safely handle the route; use the Lost River only when your vehicle and oxygen plan suit its greater depth.

GET STARTED

How to farm

Before you go

  • Seaglide and adequate oxygen, or a vehicle rated for the chosen route.
  • Light source for spotting ore against cave terrain.
  • Beacon or other way to mark the entrance if cave navigation is difficult.
  1. Find a Grassy Plateaus sinkhole leading into the Jellyshroom Cave.
  2. Descend while noting the entrance and your depth; keep a clear return path.
  3. Search the lower floor, cave ledges, and areas near walls for exposed Magnetite.
  4. Pick up loose pieces directly and inspect nearby ground before moving to another branch.
  5. Return to the entrance before oxygen or vehicle limits become urgent.
  6. When you have a suitable deep vehicle, plan a separate Lost River sweep and search its cave floor for Magnetite.
  7. Collect only exposed pieces and leave large deposits for equipment appropriate to drilling them.

Farming tips

  • The Jellyshroom Cave is the more accessible option; a Lost River trip requires a deeper vehicle and more careful planning.
  • A beacon near the cave entrance makes the return route easier to find after exploring around mushroom formations.

Repeat, collect and use

Loose Magnetite can be collected on repeat visits, but the pieces available in a given sweep are limited. Search another named location or return later if you need more.

Common mistakes

  • Entering the Lost River with an under-rated vehicle: check the vehicle depth rating against the route before descent.
  • Assuming every shiny stone is Magnetite: confirm the pickup name before collecting.
  • Pushing into branches until oxygen is low: turn back while the entrance remains easy to reach.

When to stop or switch

End the run when you have enough Magnetite for your current plans or when your remaining oxygen and vehicle margin no longer support a safe return.
