WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
At your base, beside a Drying Rack you can check when returning from hunts or before leaving for a cave.
Use this preservation loop after hunting when you have more meat than you need to eat immediately. A Drying Rack turns that surplus into stored food for later collection. This guide focuses on processing and maintaining a reserve; hunt and collect the meat first, then use the rack to prepare it for a later journey.
A safe base location where you can return to check the rack.
Inventory room to collect the dried meat.
Build or locate a Drying Rack at your base before bringing back a large hunt.
After a hunt, keep the meat you plan to eat soon separate from the surplus you want to preserve.
Place the surplus meat on the rack to dry.
Leave it on the rack while you handle other base tasks or travel; do not treat rack space as carried food.
When you return, check the rack and collect meat that has dried.
Store the dried meat with your travel supplies, then take a portion before a cave expedition.
After the next hunt, refill available rack space with surplus meat.
Farming tips
Process extra meat after a hunt so it is ready to collect when you prepare for travel.
Check the rack before departing; food left there does not help until you collect it.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat whenever you bring home fresh surplus meat. The reserve depends on successful hunts and available rack space; the rack preserves food but does not produce meat on its own.
Common mistakes
Leaving all meat on the rack: keep some accessible for immediate needs and collect dried portions before travel.
Assuming rack space is a portable reserve: collect the dried meat into your inventory before leaving camp.
Filling the rack without checking it later: return to collect the preserved food before the next trip.
When to stop or switch
Stop processing when your planned trip has enough dried food or the rack has no useful space; resume after collecting stored meat or returning with another hunt.
