Rabbit Fur

Rabbit Fur is a useful crafting material for equipment, so collecting it deliberately can unlock carrying and clothing options.

PC / Global, final release
WHERE & HOW TO FARM

Where to farm

Open forest and grassy clearings where rabbits travel, with traps placed along visible paths near camp.

Use traps along rabbit paths or hunt rabbits with a bow or spear, then collect fur from the carcass. Traps let you check a chosen area while doing other work, while direct hunting is useful when you spot a rabbit. Keep the fur for a planned recipe rather than spending it without checking your equipment needs.

GET STARTED

How to farm

Before you go

  • A crafted trap or a bow or spear for hunting.
  • A safe, accessible spot for trap placement.
  • Inventory space to collect rabbit fur.
  1. Watch grassy clearings and forest edges for rabbit movement before choosing where to set up.
  2. Place a rabbit trap along a path that you can revisit safely, or carry a bow or spear for a spotted animal.
  3. Check the trap during a return to camp rather than waiting beside it.
  4. If hunting directly, approach with a weapon ready and take a shot or strike when the rabbit is in reach.
  5. Collect the carcass and rabbit fur after a successful catch.
  6. Store fur until you can craft the pouch, quiver, warm clothing, or another needed item.
  7. Reset or revisit the trap area and repeat while you still need fur.

Farming tips

  • A trap on a path is easier to remember and check than one placed far from your normal route.
  • Use fur toward a specific equipment need first, then gather more for other recipes.

Repeat, collect and use

Repeatable through trapping or hunting while rabbits are available; each attempt may take time and does not guarantee a catch.

Common mistakes

  • Chasing rabbits in the open without a plan: use a bow or set a trap on a travel path.
  • Placing traps somewhere you will forget: put them near a regular camp route.
  • Spending fur before deciding on equipment: save it for the recipe that solves your current need.

When to stop or switch

Stop when you have the fur needed for your chosen equipment recipe; switch to another food or material task afterward.
