Garden Seed Crop Propagation

A garden lets you grow useful medicinal plants and berries near camp from seeds you collect.

PC / Global, final release
WHERE & HOW TO FARM

Where to farm

A garden built near a surface shelter, with cave gardens as a separate option for mushroom cultivation.

Plant Aloe, Coneflower, or Blueberry seeds in a garden near shelter and revisit it as part of camp upkeep. The crop choice determines whether the harvest supports medicine crafting or food. Cave gardens can support mushroom types, but this guide focuses on surface seed crops and does not assume a specific yield or growth schedule.

GET STARTED

How to farm

Before you go

  • A garden blueprint and materials to build it.
  • Seeds for Aloe, Coneflower, or Blueberries.
  • A safe camp location you can revisit.
  1. Build a garden close to your shelter so checking crops fits your regular camp loop.
  2. Collect seeds for Aloe, Coneflower, or Blueberries when available during surface exploration.
  3. Plant the seeds in the garden and note which crop occupies each growing space.
  4. Return to camp during ordinary supply runs and inspect the planted crops.
  5. Harvest crops when they are ready and collect the output for food or medicinal crafting.
  6. Replant with saved or newly collected seeds when you want another crop cycle.
  7. Keep medicinal plants and edible berries near camp so you can gather them before expeditions.

Farming tips

  • Choose the crop based on the next need: berries for food, medicinal plants for crafting supplies.
  • A cave garden is a distinct option for mushrooms; use a surface garden for the seed crops described here.

Repeat, collect and use

Repeatable when seeds are available and the garden can be replanted; harvest timing and output are not specified here.

Common mistakes

  • Planting without seeds: collect the desired seed type first.
  • Treating every crop as interchangeable: select berries or medicinal plants for the intended use.
  • Building far from camp: place the garden where routine checks are practical.

When to stop or switch

Stop tending when your desired camp reserve is collected; switch crop space to another useful seed type if priorities change.
