Where to farm
Agony Wave, at the selection prompt after each wave.
At the end of each Agony Wave, you choose from options that pair a Blessing with a Curse. Blessings can improve rewards or help in combat, while Curses can make battles harder or reduce rewards. The choice affects the waves ahead, so compare both halves against your character's weaknesses and the run's remaining goal. Limited rerolls and option blocks can help when an offered pairing is especially harmful, but using them without a clear reason can leave fewer tools for later. This is a decision guide for the repeatable activity, not a fixed selection recipe; the options vary.
Have a build capable of handling the activity's timed waves and bosses.
Understand the current run goal, such as reaching more waves or earning Shards for a reward chest.
Keep the limited reroll and option block uses for choices that materially threaten the run.
Enter Agony Wave and clear the first wave by filling the gauge and defeating its boss.
At the end-of-wave prompt, read each of the three Blessing and Curse pairings completely.
Identify whether the Blessing helps your build or reward goal and whether the Curse attacks a weak point.
Choose the pairing with the best manageable tradeoff for the remaining waves.
Use a reroll only when all displayed pairings are poor fits for your build.
Block an option you consider critical to avoid when the feature is available and its use is justified.
Reassess each new choice as your health, build performance, and target reward change.
Farming tips
A reward boost may not be worthwhile if its paired Curse makes it unlikely you will defeat the next boss.
Save limited rerolls for a pairing that would meaningfully compromise survival or reward progress.
Repeat, collect and use
The choice appears after each cleared wave in every Agony Wave run. Options vary, and rerolls or blocks are limited-use features rather than an unlimited refresh.
Common mistakes
Reading only the Blessing: consider the paired Curse before confirming.
Taking a severe combat drawback for a reward boost your build cannot exploit: prioritize a survivable run.
Using rerolls on merely average choices: reserve them for choices that threaten your stated goal.
When to stop or switch
Stop adding risk when your character can no longer reliably clear the next boss; secure the Shards already earned and claim an affordable chest at Agony Terminus.
