Where to farm

A legal farm placement surface or level grassy/fertile terrain near a protected base; the specific placement option depends on terrain and server setup.

A planted Wheat Seed grows into a Wheat plant, giving you a renewable source that does not require another successful loot run each cycle. The current Wheat Seed page lists a 200-minute growth time; server settings or later game changes may affect what you experience, so use the in-game crop state to tell when it is ready. Keep a seed aside to restart the loop.

How to farm

Before you go

At least one Wheat Seed, with another seed or Wheat available for a reserve.
A legal, accessible crop surface within placement range.
A protected base location and inventory space for harvests.

Acquire Wheat Seed from a farm or botanist, or craft one from Wheat.
Choose a level planting spot at base where you can reach the crop and protect it from damage or theft.
Place the seed on the legal surface; use a Planter if terrain prevents a suitable ground placement.
Leave the crop to grow and check it in game rather than relying on an assumed server timer.
When mature, harvest the Wheat and collect the output.
Craft or retain a Wheat Seed before eating or otherwise using the grain.
Replant from the reserve and store any extra harvest for food or later seed conversion.

Farming tips

Planters can help when ground is uneven or when you want the crop placed inside a protected area.
Wheat Seed is edible, so keep the planting reserve in a separate inventory or container.

Repeat, collect and use

Repeat the grow, harvest, reserve and replant cycle for as long as you want Wheat. This is a renewable activity, not a one-time harvest.

Common mistakes

Trying to place Wheat instead of Wheat Seed: plant the seed item.
Using every seed as food: retain the reserve before consuming supplies.
Assuming a universal growth timer: check the crop in game, especially on servers with adjusted settings.

When to stop or switch

Stop adding plots when the harvest meets your food and seed needs, or switch to seed looting if your crop is lost.
