Carrots supply food and can be turned into planting stock, creating a renewable crop supply after the first seeds are found.

WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
Wild Carrot Seeds on the Black Forest floor; grow them in cultivated soil in a compatible biome.
The first carrot seeds come from wild plants in the Black Forest. After that, grow carrots on cultivated soil and reserve part of each harvest for planting. A well-spaced plot supplies food while retaining the stock needed for another cycle.
A spatial example for organizing food crops, seed-bearing plants, a central access path, and a protective fence. Plant spacing is illustrative: check that each plant reports healthy in your world. Barley and Flax require a Plains plot.

How to farm
Before you go
A Cultivator to prepare soil and plant crops.
Wild carrot seeds collected in the Black Forest.
A safe plot with cultivated soil, open sky, and room between plants.
Search the Black Forest floor for wild carrot seed plants and collect their seeds.
Choose a safe farm area in a compatible biome and clear obstructions around it.
Use the Cultivator to prepare the soil.
Plant carrot seeds with space between them and leave the plot open to the sky.
Check a struggling plant's in-game status for a cover, crowding, or biome problem.
Harvest mature carrots and carry them to storage or cooking.
Reserve carrots for planting and use the planting option to expand the next crop batch.
Farming tips
Plant status messages help identify whether overhead cover, nearby objects, or the biome prevent growth.
Keep planting stock in a separate chest so cooking does not consume the next generation.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat harvesting and replanting while you retain planting stock and keep the plot suitable; the crop cycle is renewable.
Common mistakes
Planting in untilled ground: prepare it with the Cultivator first.
Crowding crops or covering them: leave space and open sky, then check plant status.
Cooking the entire harvest: reserve carrots for planting before using the rest.
When to stop or switch
Stop expanding once regular harvests cover food use and leave a reliable planting reserve.
