WHERE & HOW TO FARM Where to farm Garden Beds on train platforms after the Garden technology is available.
A Garden Bed converts collected seeds, water, and time into organics aboard the train. Water the plot and use compost from a Rofleemo Toilet when available: compost speeds growth and guarantees the planted seed is returned from a fully grown crop harvest.
Before you go Garden technology researched and a constructed Garden Bed. Organic seed and water from Water Condensers or available water. Compost from a Rofleemo Toilet for the guaranteed seed return. Place a Garden Bed on a floored train platform and choose an empty slot. Plant an organic seed in that slot. Provide water to the bed from your available water supply and watch its visible growth state. When compost is available, apply it to the planted bed to shorten growth and secure seed return. Wait until the crop is fully grown, then harvest the organics. Store the harvest for Kitchen recipes and keep the returned seed for the next planting. Replant the seed and repeat the watering and compost steps. Farming tips Establish at least one seed reserve before expanding beds, especially before compost is available. Garden research is an earlier progression step; Botanist automation comes later and is optional for manual growing. Repeat, collect and use Repeat for each planted crop; composted full harvests return the seed, while unfertilized crops may not, so that loop is not guaranteed.
Common mistakes Letting the bed run dry; replenish water to support growth. Assuming every unfertilized harvest returns a seed; use compost for the guaranteed return. Waiting for a Botanist before starting; manual beds work once Garden technology and materials are available. When to stop or switch Switch to cooking or another farm task when you have enough organics for the next meal batch and seed stock is stable.
