WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
Schools of small void fish alongside the train during Void travel.
Small, peaceful void fish are a seed source for the train garden. The reliable base-game approach is to stop near a school and collect by hand; a Grappling Hook can pull fish toward the platform. Sharks are hostile predators and are not the target for seed gathering.
A train brake for stopping near a school, or a Grappling Hook for platform collection.
Safety tether for hand gathering outside the train.
A Garden Bed if you intend to plant collected seeds.
Watch alongside the train for a school of small fish and stop near it with the brake.
Leave the trolley and swim directly through the school while staying within tether range.
Interact with fish to collect them, then press F to reel back to the train.
Alternatively, aim the Grappling Hook at a cluster from the platform to pull fish in.
Sort seeds from other fish materials in train storage.
Plant a seed in an empty Garden Bed slot once you have a bed and water supply.
Farming tips
Avoid firing ordinary single-shot weapons near a school; gunfire can scatter fish.
Keep regular and strange seeds separated so each can be used for the intended crop.
Repeat, collect and use
Schools appear along Void routes, so repeat the collection on later passes when you need seeds or fish materials; individual catches are not guaranteed to yield a particular seed.
Common mistakes
Chasing a large shark for seeds; target the small schooling fish instead.
Swimming too far from the trolley; gather close and reel back before tether range is lost.
Planting the last seed without compost; preserve a reserve until the crop loop is established.
When to stop or switch
Stop collecting when you have seeds for the beds you plan to plant plus a reserve for expansion.
