Avoid patched Devil’s Pit money route

Prevents wasted travel by steering crown farming toward camps that still respawn in the current patch context.

WHERE & HOW TO FARM

Where to farm

Devil’s Pit in Velen is the location to avoid for a repeated bandit farm; use the separate respawning camp circuit when farming weapons.

Devil’s Pit is a poor choice for a repeatable bandit income loop in patch 4.0 and later: its bandits no longer respawn as the old farm advice suggests. Treat the location as a one-time encounter, not a source to revisit for another weapon haul. For repeatable sales, use the recorded camps near Alness, Drahim Castle, Ursten, or Giant’s Toes instead. Loot weapons from groups that return, sell them to a suitable buyer, and put the crowns toward a specific purchase.

GET STARTED

How to farm

Before you go

  • Know that your game is on patch 4.0 or later.
  • Have access to at least one of the recorded respawning bandit camps.
  • Carry inventory space for weapons and know where you will sell them.
  1. If you have already cleared Devil’s Pit, do not spend a return trip expecting its bandits to reappear.
  2. Choose a repeatable camp near Alness, southwest of Drahim Castle, southeast of Ursten, or Giant’s Toes.
  3. Travel to the selected camp and confirm that bandits are present before committing to the fight.
  4. Defeat the group and collect weapons from the bodies and loot points.
  5. Fast travel to another landmass to let the other area refresh, then return to an available camp.
  6. Sell the gathered weapons at a smith or merchant once your inventory is crowded.
  7. Spend the crowns on your next planned upgrade or crafting need.

Farming tips

  • Treat older route advice cautiously when it relies on a location being repeatable; patch changes can invalidate a farm.
  • A camp that has not refreshed is a cue to move on or do other activities, not to idle at Devil’s Pit.

Repeat, collect and use

Devil’s Pit is not a repeatable farm after patch 4.0. The replacement circuit is repeatable where listed bandit camps refresh; sell and revisit those locations as needed.

Common mistakes

  • Do not confuse a one-time clear with a respawning encounter; use the listed camps for repeated weapon loot.
  • Do not keep returning to Devil’s Pit after it is cleared; move to another camp instead.
  • Do not count on a fixed sale total; weapons and merchant funds vary.

When to stop or switch

Stop using this route warning once you have selected a functioning respawning camp; switch to quests or exploration if the alternative loop is no longer worth the travel and selling time.
