WHERE & HOW TO FARM Where to farm Asteroid sectors containing the target material that the carrier can reach and survive, including riskier areas only when the fleet is prepared.
Mining fighters can support collection when used with a carrier-style ship, but a mining fleet still needs a safe sector, compatible mining equipment, and a plan for handling the ore. Keep fighter work tied to a specific material goal and ensure the carrier has cargo space and a depot route. Sector danger rises toward the core, so assess the area before sending the fleet.
Before you go Carrier or ship able to deploy and recover mining fighters. Mining fighters and the required crew or launch support shown in the ship interface. Cargo space and a Resource Depot route for collected material. Weapons or escort appropriate to the sector’s threat. Choose a target ore and locate a reachable asteroid sector showing it on the galaxy map. Check the sector’s faction and threat context against the carrier’s defenses. Confirm the ship has the mining fighter capability, operational crew, and enough cargo space. Travel to the asteroid sector and deploy mining fighters through the ship’s fighter controls. Monitor the operation and recall fighters before leaving the sector or taking avoidable combat risk. Collect the carrier’s ore and return to a Resource Depot for processing. Review losses, cargo use, and actual collection before expanding the fighter group or choosing a more dangerous sector. Repeat only after replacing losses and confirming the material remains useful. Farming tips Use faction-controlled space while validating the fighter and cargo setup; unclaimed areas can add danger. Treat fighters as a collection aid, not protection for the carrier; maintain a separate defense plan. Repeat, collect and use Repeatable while fighters and carrier support remain available; individual collection and losses vary with sector and equipment.
Common mistakes Assuming fighters protect the ship from hostiles: add defenses or choose a safer sector. Deploying without cargo room: clear or expand the carrier’s hold before starting. Leaving fighters deployed when withdrawing: recall them before travel or combat. When to stop or switch Stop the run when cargo is full, fighter losses make continued work inefficient, or the target material is no longer needed.
