A repeatable wreck-salvage activity for recovering resources and checking suitable wrecks for turret or subsystem drops.

WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
Ship graveyards and sectors containing salvageable shipwrecks in the vanilla galaxy.
Use a salvaging laser to work shipwrecks when you want recovered resources and a chance to find equipment. Some wreck blocks can yield turrets or subsystems, but this is not a guaranteed drop farm: the result depends on the wreck, and the available evidence does not establish a reliable rate. Treat each wreck as a salvage opportunity, then sort the recovered cargo before returning to your normal mining circuit.
Cargo space for recovered resources and any equipment.
A sector and ship survivable for the wreck site’s threat level.
Choose a wreck site you can reach and safely work; carry enough cargo space to bring back the results.
Inspect the wreck and identify blocks your salvaging laser can target.
Fire the Salvaging Laser at the wreck, working through salvageable blocks rather than treating it like an asteroid field.
Watch your cargo as resources and any equipment are recovered; leave room for items you want to keep.
When the wreck is exhausted or cargo is getting tight, return to a station or depot where you can unload and sort the haul.
Keep useful turrets or subsystems for fitting or evaluation, and sell or store unwanted items as appropriate.
Select another salvageable wreck if the trip remains worthwhile, and review what the previous site actually produced.
Farming tips
Salvaging lasers and mining lasers serve different targets; fit the salvaging tool for wreck work.
Keep cargo available for both materials and equipment, since recovered items can compete for the same space.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeatable wherever salvageable wrecks remain available. Equipment drops are conditional and not guaranteed; a particular wreck may mainly provide resources.
Common mistakes
Assuming every wreck yields a turret or subsystem: salvage it for the resources too, and treat equipment as a possible bonus.
Fitting only mining lasers for wreck recovery: bring a Salvaging Laser suited to the target blocks.
Filling the hold before valuable equipment is recovered: reserve cargo and end the run when capacity becomes limiting.
When to stop or switch
Stop at the current wreck when its salvageable blocks are exhausted or the cargo hold is nearly full; switch activities if repeated wrecks are not producing useful materials or equipment.
