Stone Soldiers can drop Titanite Slabs, but fixed sources and guaranteed rewards are better to check before investing in a rare-drop grind.

WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
Drangleic Castle, along routes where Stone Soldiers are encountered; use the nearest activated bonfire for your chosen loop.
Titanite Slabs upgrade standard equipment from +9 to +10, so each one has a specific end-stage use. In Scholar, Stone Soldiers in Drangleic Castle are a listed enemy source, but the drop is rare and not a dependable early farm. First check fixed slab sources and the reward from Steady Hand McDuff for spending souls on smithing services. If you still need more, clear accessible Stone Soldiers with item-discovery gear, collect any slab, and reset at a bonfire. Do not confuse this rare enemy-drop route with ordinary Titanite Chunk farming.
Reach Drangleic Castle and activate a bonfire near Stone Soldier encounters.
A weapon capable of handling the soldiers without repeated deaths.
Optional item-discovery gear for rare drops.
Check your inventory and intended weapon to confirm that a Slab is the remaining upgrade requirement.
Collect available fixed Slabs and claim McDuff’s service-spending reward if eligible before farming random drops.
Rest at the nearest bonfire and choose a short route with Stone Soldiers you can defeat safely.
Equip item-discovery gear if available, then engage soldiers one at a time where possible.
Check each defeated soldier for a Titanite Slab and record the actual materials collected.
Return to the bonfire and repeat while the enemies respawn normally.
Take the Slab to a blacksmith and apply it only to the equipment you have chosen to finish upgrading.
Farming tips
Because Slabs are rare, a stable route and fixed rewards usually save more time than repeatedly escalating bonfire intensity.
Confirm the final upgrade path before spending the Slab; it is a scarce material.
Repeat, collect and use
The drop route is repeatable only while Stone Soldiers continue to respawn. If they despawn, an Ascetic can restore eligible enemies but permanently increases the area’s intensity.
Common mistakes
Starting the grind before checking fixed rewards; collect guaranteed sources first and then calculate the remaining need.
Assuming each soldier drops a Slab; treat it as a rare possibility, not a guaranteed payout.
Using an Ascetic only to force more attempts without accounting for stronger enemies; stop or switch routes if the added risk is high.
When to stop or switch
Stop when the desired weapon or armor reaches its target upgrade level, or when the rare-drop route becomes too costly for the remaining need.
