Hunt Crystal Lizards for rare stones

Location-specific Crystal Lizard hunts provide one-time chances at useful gems and upgrade stones, including rare materials in the base game and DLC areas.

WHERE & HOW TO FARM

Where to farm

Named Crystal Lizard locations across the base game and, where owned, DLC areas. Large Crystal Lizards and Archdragon Peak Rock Lizards are specific late-game targets.

Crystal Lizards are short, location-specific hunts, not an unlimited enemy farm. Different lizards drop different materials, and the drop is tied to the lizard’s location. The source list includes Large Crystal Lizards and Archdragon Peak Rock Lizards for rare stones. Find the lizard, interrupt its escape, and collect the automatic drop. If it escapes, reload the area to bring it back; DLC locations require their DLC access.

GET STARTED

How to farm

Before you go

  • Reach the region containing the target lizard.
  • Have a fast or high-stagger attack ready to stop its escape.
  • Check the target location’s drop before traveling there.
  • Own and access the relevant DLC for DLC-only lizard locations.
  1. Choose the exact material you need, such as a particular infusion Gem or upgrade stone.
  2. Identify a lizard location known to yield that material rather than assuming all lizards share drops.
  3. Travel to the area and listen for the lizard’s distinctive twinkling sound.
  4. Approach and attack quickly; a strong hit can interrupt its escape.
  5. Collect the item, which is added to your inventory even if the lizard falls from a ledge.
  6. If it escapes before dying, reload the area by resting, dying, or reloading the game and try again.
  7. Use the gem at Andre for an infusion or the titanite at Andre for reinforcement, as appropriate.

Farming tips

  • The lizard’s item is location-specific, so target the exact source tied to your material rather than repeating an unrelated hunt.
  • A Crystal Lizard’s item is collected automatically when it dies; check inventory after the encounter.

Repeat, collect and use

Each lizard provides a limited location-specific reward per appearance. If it escapes, reload the area to respawn it; its reward is not a standard bonfire enemy drop.

Common mistakes

  • Chasing any lizard for any gem: verify the material associated with that location first.
  • Assuming a lizard is gone forever after escape: reload the area and retry.
  • Confusing reinforcement Titanite with infusion Gems: identify which equipment system your target item belongs to.

When to stop or switch

Stop after collecting the needed material from the relevant lizard or after confirming that the location’s reward is not the item you need.
