Sharp Gems support Dexterity-focused weapon infusions when the character and weapon benefit from that scaling.

Where to farm

Catacombs of Carthus, near the first bridge and the lower room containing a Grave Warden Skeleton; the bonfire route is accessed from the Abyss Watchers bonfire.

Carthus Swordsmen and Grave Warden Skeletons can drop Sharp Gems in the Catacombs. This repeatable method complements the fixed Sharp Gem on a ledge in the same area. The item is used at Andre, and Farron Coal is needed to unlock the infusion. Check your weapon’s infusion result before farming, since the gem reduces Strength scaling and base damage while increasing Dexterity scaling.

How to farm

Before you go

Reach the Catacombs of Carthus.
Bring Farron Coal to Andre to unlock Sharp infusion.
Use a weapon suited to repeated encounters with Carthus enemies.
Equip item-discovery gear if available.

Unlock the Sharp infusion at Andre with Farron Coal if you have not done so.
Travel to the Catacombs and identify the Carthus Swordsmen and Grave Warden Skeletons along the route.
Clear the nearby enemies and collect any Sharp Gems that drop.
Check inventory before returning to the bonfire.
Rest at the bonfire to respawn enemies and repeat the same short route if needed.
If you have not claimed the fixed Sharp Gem, reach the first bridge, drop to the left platform, enter the room, and reveal the illusory wall.
Collect the fixed gem from the ledge and apply a Sharp infusion at Andre if it suits your build.

Farming tips

The fixed ledge gem is a one-time source and may be faster than a long drop grind if still unclaimed.
Corvian Knights are another Sharp Gem drop source if you later prefer their route.

Repeat, collect and use

Enemy drops can be farmed after resting, but each Sharp Gem is random. The Catacombs ledge pickup is a separate one-time collection.

Common mistakes

Forgetting Farron Coal: Andre must receive it before Sharp infusion becomes available.
Farming after already collecting the fixed gem without checking inventory: inspect current Gem count first.
Assuming Sharp is an unconditional damage upgrade: confirm the weapon’s scaling result for your Dexterity build.

When to stop or switch

Stop when the target weapon has the Sharp infusion or you have the number of Gems needed for planned weapons.
