Farm Titanite Chunks from Darkwraiths

Darkwraiths offer a repeatable source of normal Titanite Chunks for standard weapon reinforcement, with the rare slab as a separate bonus.

PC / Global, Remastered edition including Artorias of the Abyss
WHERE & HOW TO FARM

Where to farm

Lower New Londo Ruins, reached after draining the water, along the Darkwraith route toward Four Kings.

Titanite Chunks from Darkwraiths help advance eligible standard weapons through later reinforcement stages. The same enemies may very rarely drop normal Titanite Slabs, but build this route around chunks rather than expecting a slab. New Londo’s lower ruins require preparation: drain the water, meet the route’s access requirement, and bring a way to hit ghosts encountered on the approach. Clear a manageable set of Darkwraiths, inspect drops, and reset at a bonfire only if the run remains worthwhile.

GET STARTED

How to farm

Before you go

  • Drain the water in New Londo Ruins and reach the lower area.
  • Obtain the Covenant of Artorias or otherwise satisfy access requirements for the route.
  • Bring Transient Curses or a cursed weapon for ghosts.
  • Have a reliable weapon and defense for Darkwraith fights.
  1. Start from the bonfire you use to reach New Londo and prepare your ghost-hitting method.
  2. Follow the cleared access route into the lower ruins.
  3. Pull a Darkwraith away from nearby threats before engaging.
  4. Defeat it and inspect the drop for Titanite Chunks or other materials.
  5. Continue through the Darkwraiths you can safely handle, collecting each visible drop.
  6. Return to a bonfire and rest to reset enemies before another chunk-focused run.

Farming tips

  • Item Discovery improves the chance of material drops; soft Humanity and one discovery item can raise it, but the ring and Symbol of Avarice bonuses do not stack.
  • Darkwraiths also have a rare slab drop, but treat it as an incidental outcome rather than the purpose of a short chunk run.

Repeat, collect and use

Darkwraiths respawn after resting, so chunk attempts are repeatable. Neither chunks nor slabs are guaranteed per enemy or run.

Common mistakes

  • Entering the lower ruins without ghost damage capability: prepare a Transient Curse or cursed weapon first.
  • Expecting a slab instead of targeting chunks: use this loop for repeatable material attempts and pursue guaranteed slab rewards separately.
  • Fighting several Darkwraiths together: draw one at a time and keep a retreat route open.

When to stop or switch

Stop when you have the Titanite Chunks needed for the chosen reinforcement, or when the route’s danger exceeds the value of further attempts.
