Where to farm
The Darkwraith area in lower New Londo Ruins, reached after draining the water.
A Darkwraith can rarely drop a normal Titanite Slab in New Londo Ruins. This is a long-shot farm rather than a dependable way to obtain a slab quickly, so take advantage of the route when you also need souls or Titanite Chunks. Item Discovery improves the chance of drops. A slab can raise a normal weapon from +14 to +15, among other eligible upgrades; confirm your weapon’s path and current reinforcement before spending one.
Drain New Londo and open a safe route to the lower ruins.
Bring a Transient Curse or cursed weapon for ghosts along the approach.
Equip a Covetous Gold Serpent Ring or Symbol of Avarice if available.
Keep up to 10 soft Humanity if you can safely afford the risk.
Start from your chosen bonfire and prepare the ghost-hitting tool before entering the ruins.
Follow the cleared route to the Darkwraiths, drawing enemies one at a time.
Defeat each Darkwraith and inspect drops for Titanite materials.
Collect any slab immediately and confirm it appears in your inventory.
Return to a bonfire, rest to reset enemies, and repeat if continuing the farm.
Take the slab to a blacksmith and apply it only to an eligible weapon or armor upgrade.
Farming tips
The Gold Serpent Ring and Symbol of Avarice provide the discovery-item bonus; their effects do not stack.
Soft Humanity increases Item Discovery, but carrying Humanity and unspent souls into a lethal route risks losing them.
Repeat, collect and use
Darkwraiths respawn, so attempts are repeatable. Slab drops are exceptionally rare and never guaranteed on a run; this is separate from one-time slab rewards.
Common mistakes
Expecting a slab after a few kills: plan around repeated attempts or claim a guaranteed slab source first.
Using both discovery items for a combined bonus: equip one of them.
Spending a slab without checking the path: verify that the weapon is at the upgrade step the slab supports.
When to stop or switch
Stop when you receive the slab or when the time and risk exceed the value of another attempt; switch to another upgrade target if appropriate.
