Reusable Parts, Arcane Dust and Veiled Crystals

These common materials support Blacksmith crafting and Kanai’s Cube upgrades, and salvaging unwanted items converts drops into useful stock.

PC / Global, Reaper of Souls endgame
WHERE & HOW TO FARM

Where to farm

Any town Blacksmith in Reaper of Souls Adventure Mode; collect equipment from rifts and other activities.

Salvage surplus equipment at the Blacksmith to turn it into the common crafting material associated with its rarity. Normal white or gray items yield Reusable Parts, magic blue items yield Arcane Dust, and rare yellow items yield Veiled Crystals. Nephalem Rifts provide a natural supply of dropped equipment, including normal items from weapon and armor racks.

GET STARTED

How to farm

Before you go

  • Access to a town Blacksmith.
  • Unwanted normal, magic or rare equipment to salvage.
  • A planned crafting or Cube use so you know which material type to prioritize.
  1. Collect equipment while running Nephalem Rifts, bounties or other preferred activities.
  2. Return to town and open the Blacksmith’s salvage interface.
  3. Sort unwanted items by rarity: normal, magic and rare.
  4. Salvage normal items to build Reusable Parts stock.
  5. Salvage magic items for Arcane Dust and rare items for Veiled Crystals.
  6. Check the Cube’s material conversion recipe if one material type is surplus and another is short.
  7. Resume farming when your stock is below the next planned craft or upgrade cost.

Farming tips

  • Weapon and armor racks in Nephalem Rifts are a useful source of normal items when Reusable Parts are the shortage.
  • Salvage only gear you are sure you do not want to equip or keep; legendary and set items have different uses and costs.

Repeat, collect and use

This is an unlimited processing loop: collect unwanted items, salvage them, and repeat whenever crafting consumes your stock.

Common mistakes

  • Salvaging by item appearance rather than rarity: rarity determines the material. Check the item color before bulk salvaging.
  • Throwing away all white items: normal items are valuable for Reusable Parts and can be a deliberate target when that stock runs low.
  • Spending materials without a purpose: check the next recipe first so you do not exhaust a type you still need.

When to stop or switch

Stop salvaging once you have enough of the needed material for the planned recipe, or switch activities if you lack drops of the needed rarity.
