WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
Buy the license from Fletch at the Visitor Site, then prepare a plot near your settlement and buy seeds from Rayne’s Plant Shop or visiting stall.
Crop farming begins with Fletch’s Farming License Level One. That license unlocks the basic field tools; seeds come from Rayne when she visits or from her later Plant Shop. Start with a small plot so daily watering and seasonal timing stay manageable.
Hoe, Watering Can, and Scythe, purchased when Rayne is available.
Speak with Fletch and purchase Farming License Level One for 250 Permit Points.
When Rayne visits, buy the Hoe, Watering Can, and Scythe if you do not already have them.
Check the seed’s season before buying enough to fill a field.
Use the Hoe on open soil and place seeds in the tilled plots.
Water newly planted crops with the Watering Can.
Check the plants on following days and water them as needed until ready.
Use the Scythe to harvest mature crops and collect the drops.
Farming tips
Keep the first plot small enough to water by hand; expand as you gain irrigation options.
Save a portion of useful harvests for cooking, requests, or future planting before selling surplus.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat the plant, water, grow, and harvest cycle with new seeds. Seed availability and crop timing depend on the season and Rayne’s stock.
Common mistakes
Buying seeds without checking their season can leave too little time to grow them; choose a crop suited to the current season.
Leaving new plants dry can delay progress; water them after planting and check the field regularly.
Harvesting with the wrong tool wastes time; use the Scythe when crops are ready.
When to stop or switch
Pause expansion when you cannot keep the current plots watered or when the season no longer suits the seeds you have. Resume with a smaller plot or a season-compatible crop.
