Seasonal Crops

Matching crops to the season helps secure harvests for cooking, income, and other farm needs.

WHERE & HOW TO FARM

Where to farm

Tilled farm rows on the island; obtain seed bags from Rayne’s Plant Shop or her visiting stock.

Choose seeds around the season in which they grow. Green Beans grow in Spring and Summer, Pumpkins in Autumn, and Carrots in Winter. Sugar Cane is the flexible option recorded as growing year-round. A season-aware field reduces the chance of investing in seeds that cannot finish in time.

GET STARTED

How to farm

Before you go

  • Farming License Level One and basic farming tools.
  • Seeds that match the current season, or Sugar Cane for a year-round crop.
  • Watering Can or an established sprinkler setup.
  1. Check the current season before purchasing or planting seeds.
  2. Choose Green Beans for Spring or Summer, Pumpkins for Autumn, or Carrots for Winter.
  3. Use Sugar Cane when you need a crop that can remain in the ground through any season.
  4. Hoe open plots, plant the seeds, and water each newly planted crop.
  5. Continue checking and watering the field as plants grow.
  6. Harvest mature crops with the Scythe before the season changes.
  7. For Green Beans, leave the plant in place and keep watering after its first harvest to support regrowth.

Farming tips

  • Plant only what you can water and harvest; a compact seasonal plot is easier to maintain.
  • Keep some harvest in storage for cooking or requests before selling the remainder.

Repeat, collect and use

Repeat each suitable season with its matching crop. Green Beans can produce again after harvest while kept and watered; seasonal planting otherwise requires new seeds when you want another crop.

Common mistakes

  • Planting a seasonal crop at the end of its growing season risks losing the investment; check the calendar first.
  • Removing Green Beans after their first harvest discards the stated regrowth opportunity; keep watering the plant.
  • Assuming every crop is seasonal can waste field space; Sugar Cane is the year-round alternative.

When to stop or switch

Stop planting a seasonal crop when its season is ending or when you lack time to care for it. Switch to a suitable current-season seed or leave the plot empty until the next cycle.
