Feed Pigs for Manure or Werepig Drops

Pigs turn ordinary plant foods into Manure, while a separate Monster Meat route converts a pig into a meat and Pig Skin target.

WHERE & HOW TO FARM

Where to farm

Pig Houses and Pig Villages in the overworld; use a separated fight area if deliberately making a Werepig.

Choose the pig output you need before feeding. For Manure, give a pig fruit, vegetables, or petals; it produces a manure pile, making a pig house near a garden a useful renewable fertilizer source. For meat and Pig Skin, feed Monster Meat until the pig transforms into a Werepig, then fight it away from the house and collect its drops. Four pieces of Monster Meat trigger the transformation according to the wiki, and a Werepig drops two Meat and one Pig Skin. These are different loops with different risks: regular pigs are a non-combat source of manure, while Werepigs are hostile. Do not leave monster food around a pig village where pigs could eat it unintentionally. The route supplies farm input or creature loot; it does not require rabbit traps or Spider Dens.

GET STARTED

How to farm

Before you go

  • A pig that can be fed; a nearby Pig House is useful for repeat access.
  • Fruit, vegetables, or petals for the manure route.
  • Optional: four Monster Meat for the deliberate Werepig route, plus combat equipment.
  1. Choose manure or Werepig loot as the target; do not combine the inputs casually.
  2. For manure, feed a pig a fruit, vegetable, or petal and wait for it to produce a manure pile.
  3. Collect manure and route it to farm plots that need fertilizer; repeat plant-food feeding when more is required.
  4. Keep the pig area clear of unattended Monster Meat so animals do not transform unexpectedly.
  5. For a Werepig run, lead a pig away from houses, crops, and storage before feeding Monster Meat.
  6. Feed four pieces of Monster Meat to transform it into a hostile Werepig.
  7. Defeat the Werepig and collect its two Meat and one Pig Skin, then return to the safe manure routine only after the threat is gone.
  8. If using a Pig House as a long-term source, remember that a killed pig respawns from its house after four days.

Farming tips

  • Pigs can produce Manure from plant foods repeatedly, so that route avoids combat and pig replacement time.
  • Werepig conversion is irreversible for that encounter; only use the Monster Meat route when you can handle the fight.

Repeat, collect and use

Repeat the manure loop with plant foods as needed. A killed pig from a house respawns after four days; plan Werepig hunting around that delay.

Common mistakes

  • Feeding a Pig Monster Meat when your goal is only Manure.
  • Fighting a Werepig beside crop beds or storage where combat can damage camp property.
  • Assuming a killed Pig House resident returns immediately; the normal respawn interval is four days.

When to stop or switch

Stop feeding when the fertilizer stock meets current farm needs, or stop the hunting route once you have the required meat and Pig Skin.
