WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
Kitchen Garden beds; Carrot Seeds are sold by the Farmer at the village farm, with stock dependent on trade progression.
Grow carrots in Kitchen Garden beds using seeds bought from the Farmer. Peat is a useful pre-sowing input when you want more seeds and crop output and less seed loss. Keep a seed reserve so the plot can continue producing without relying on a shop visit for every planting.
Unlock Kitchen Garden access and have an available bed.
Buy Carrot Seeds from the Farmer.
Have Peat if you want its seed and crop yield benefits.
Visit the Farmer and buy Carrot Seeds; check shop availability as your trade progression changes.
Return to the Kitchen Garden and select an empty bed.
Apply Peat to the bed before sowing if you have it.
Plant the carrot seeds using the bed interaction.
Let the crop grow, then return when the bed indicates it is ready to harvest.
Collect the carrots, returned seeds, and any crop waste produced.
Reserve enough seeds for the next planting and carry surplus carrots to cooking or another use.
Farming tips
Peat belongs on the bed before sowing; applying it after planting misses the setup for that crop cycle.
Keep seed stock separate from food stock so a useful harvest does not leave the bed idle next time.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat for each planted bed after harvesting; seed returns and crop yield can vary, so replenish from the Farmer if your reserve runs short.
Common mistakes
Sowing before applying Peat: prepare the bed first when using this fertilizer.
Using every returned seed as food: retain a planting reserve.
Expecting identical Farmer stock at every stage: check trade progression and availability before planning a large planting.
When to stop or switch
Stop planting once you have the carrot supply you need for current cooking or crafting; switch beds to another crop if carrots are accumulating unused.
