Wheat and Hops

Wheat and hops feed separate food and brewing chains, making them useful once both garden beds and vineyard plots are available.

WHERE & HOW TO FARM

Where to farm

Wheat: Kitchen Garden beds. Hops: vineyard trellises opened through Farming and Nature technology.

Wheat grows in ordinary Kitchen Garden beds, while hops belong on vineyard trellises after the relevant farming technology is unlocked. Treat them as separate crops and harvest streams: their plots differ, and harvested goods need to be carried to the matching processing station shown by your unlocked recipes.

GET STARTED

How to farm

Before you go

  • Kitchen Garden access and Wheat Seeds.
  • Farming and Nature technology sufficient to unlock vineyard crop production.
  • Hops Seeds and an available trellis plot.
  • The appropriate mill or brewing workstation for the chain you intend to use.
  1. Check the Technology menu for the farming and vineyard unlocks you still need.
  2. Plant Wheat Seeds in an empty Kitchen Garden bed.
  3. Unlock the vineyard crop option and prepare an available trellis plot for hops.
  4. Plant Hops Seeds in the trellis rather than an ordinary garden bed.
  5. Return to each plot when its crop is ready and harvest wheat and hops separately.
  6. Carry wheat to the mill or other recipe station that accepts it, and take hops to the relevant brewing station.
  7. Store processed ingredients with their intended food or drink recipe materials.

Farming tips

  • Match the crop to its plot: garden beds and vineyard trellises are not interchangeable.
  • Use the technology and station menus to confirm the next processing step before planting more than you can use.

Repeat, collect and use

Both are repeatable while you can obtain seeds and have suitable plots; Farmer seed availability may depend on trade progression.

Common mistakes

  • Trying to plant hops in a regular bed: use a vineyard trellis after unlocking it.
  • Mixing the two harvests together: keep wheat and hops distinct for their different chains.
  • Planting without a processing plan: check that the destination station or recipe is available.

When to stop or switch

Pause either crop when its processed ingredient has built up beyond your current recipes, and use the freed plot for the crop you need next.
