WHERE & HOW TO FARM Where to farm The fenced Kitchen Garden southeast of the house, at its garden sign and blueprint table; Horadric is at the Dead Horse.
The Kitchen Garden is the base-game starting point for crop production. Its access sequence uses the garden’s workbench and Horadric’s certificate; Farming and Nature technology is a separate system unlock. There are no seasonal crop deadlines, so open the plots when your other tasks allow.
Before you go Reach the Kitchen Garden and inspect its blueprint table. Speak with Horadric at the Dead Horse to obtain the Garden Certificate. Have basic building materials available to repair or build a bed. Walk southeast from the house to the fenced Kitchen Garden and inspect the broken blueprint table or sign. Go to the Dead Horse and speak with Horadric about the garden. Take the Garden Certificate back to the garden. Use the certificate at the blueprint table to open the garden plots. Choose an available plot and repair or build a garden bed using the displayed materials. Open the Technology menu separately and unlock Farming and Nature recipes as needed. Plant seeds in a prepared bed once you have them, then return to harvest and collect crop waste. Farming tips Follow the sign, Horadric, certificate, and blueprint table sequence; having Farming technology alone does not grant garden access. Unlock only the beds you can supply with seeds and maintain, then expand when you have a reason to grow more. Repeat, collect and use Access is a one-time unlock. Afterward, crop planting and harvesting can be repeated whenever you have seeds and available beds.
Common mistakes Searching for a garden certificate in the technology tree: speak with Horadric after inspecting the table. Assuming plots unlock automatically: use the certificate at the blueprint table. Expecting access to unlock every crop: buy or obtain seeds and unlock crop-specific technology separately. When to stop or switch Stop once the certificate has opened the plots and you have repaired a bed; return to expand when a specific crop or production need comes up.
