PC / Global, base game plus DLCs; base-game scope
WHERE & HOW TO FARM

Where to farm

The Orchard south of the home; use its workbench to place the apple tree. Clotho sells Tree Apple Seedlings in the Swamp.

A planted apple tree belongs in the Orchard, not in a Kitchen Garden bed. Unlock Transplanting, clear the dead trees blocking orchard space with the Woodcutter technology, and buy a Tree Apple Seedling from Clotho, the witch in the Swamp. At the Orchard workbench, build Place for the apple tree with one seedling, three Peat and two Wooden Sticks. Once the tree matures, return to harvest its red apples by hand. Keep apples for recipes or storage, and revisit the tree for later harvests. This creates a reliable planted source without relying on the unsupported lighthouse/coastal route or on wild trees.

GET STARTED

How to farm

Before you go

  • Unlock the Transplanting technology for the apple-tree placement blueprint.
  • Unlock Woodcutter and clear dead trees blocking Orchard space.
  • Buy one Tree Apple Seedling from Clotho in the Swamp.
  • Bring three Peat and two Wooden Sticks for Place for the apple tree, plus inventory room for apples.
  1. Open the Technology menu and unlock Transplanting if it is not available.
  2. Unlock Woodcutter and remove the dead trees occupying the Orchard area.
  3. Travel to Clotho in the Swamp and buy a Tree Apple Seedling.
  4. Bring the seedling, three Peat and two Wooden Sticks to the Orchard workbench.
  5. Select Place for the apple tree and supply the listed materials to build the planting spot.
  6. Let the planted tree mature; no fixed harvest timer is needed for this route.
  7. Return to the Orchard and interact with the mature tree to pick its red apples.
  8. Carry apples to storage or the recipe station that needs them, then leave the tree in place for another harvest.

Farming tips

  • The Orchard is a separate production area from the Kitchen Garden; build the tree at its own workbench.
  • Apply the exact Place for the apple tree recipe inputs: one seedling, three Peat and two Wooden Sticks.

Repeat, collect and use

After the one-time technology and construction setup, return to the mature Orchard tree and harvest apples whenever they are available. Keep the tree planted for later harvests.

Common mistakes

  • Planting in an ordinary garden bed: use the Orchard workbench and Place for the apple tree blueprint.
  • Going to the lighthouse for the repeatable farm: the supported planted route is the Orchard; Clotho sells the seedling.
  • Arriving without Peat or Wooden Sticks: bring three Peat and two Wooden Sticks with the seedling.
  • Cutting down the planted tree after harvest: leave it in the Orchard for future fruit.

When to stop or switch

Stop harvesting once the apple reserve covers your planned recipes; return to the Orchard when you need more red apples.
