Where to farm

Deep forest searches can supplement stored food with seasonal plants and other finds. Confirm the zone and search focus in the Foraging panel, then identify items before deciding whether to eat or process them. No particular find is guaranteed, so treat foraging as one part of a food plan alongside crops, fishing, or trapping.
Muldraugh’s roads, green strips, outlying fields and nearby lakes in Build 42. Use these landmarks to plan a supply approach; Search Mode’s zone panel identifies the forage pool at your position.

How to farm
Before you go
Foraging Search Mode enabled.
Carry space for selected finds and a safe route back.
Plant-identification knowledge for any food you plan to eat.
Choose a reachable forest destination and a landmarked return route; use a current map if the trip is unfamiliar.
Open the Foraging panel and enable Search Mode.
Check the displayed zone and continue into the woods if the panel still shows a road or town area.
Choose a search focus that matches the materials you want, then walk through the confirmed forest zone.
Inspect each highlighted item before collecting it; take identified, useful finds rather than everything.
Keep unidentified plants apart from food and leave unknown berries or mushrooms uneaten.
Return before darkness or a blocked route makes carrying the finds unsafe, then process usable food at base.
Farming tips
Forest edges and rural ground can offer a different mix from urban parks, and seasonal availability changes what you may find.
Carry a small useful selection instead of filling your pack with unknown or low-priority items.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat as a renewable supply trip, but the finds vary with zone, season, skill, and Build 42 updates; no yield is assured.
Common mistakes
Searching while the panel still shows a road or town zone; move farther into the forest and confirm the label again.
Eating a mushroom or berry based on appearance; identify it first and keep uncertain finds out of meals.
Expecting the same results in every season; change focus or use stored food when seasonal finds are scarce.
When to stop or switch
Stop when you have enough selected supplies for the trip or the return route becomes unsafe; switch to a known food source if useful forage is scarce.
