A short forage run near town can provide useful finds without requiring a dedicated trip into rural woods.

WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
A Muldraugh roadside verge or small park where the Foraging panel identifies an urban or vegetation zone.
Urban-edge vegetation lets you search park margins and roadside greenery while staying close to a cleared street. A patch that looks green may still count as road or town, so check the Foraging panel’s zone label. Keep the outing brief, identify finds, and preserve an exit to the safehouse. Treat this as a supplement, since particular plants and yields vary.
Muldraugh’s roads, green strips, outlying fields and nearby lakes in Build 42. Use these landmarks to plan a supply approach; Search Mode’s zone panel identifies the forage pool at your position.
GET STARTED
How to farm
Before you go
Foraging Search Mode enabled.
A cleared approach and retreat route.
Inventory space for selected finds.
Use a current Muldraugh map to choose a small park or green roadside strip near your safehouse.
Approach from a street you have checked, avoiding dense blocks just to reach a marginal patch.
Enable Search Mode when you reach the verge or park edge.
Read the zone label in the Foraging panel; reposition if it reports a road or an area that does not fit your target.
Sweep the grass and vegetation edge in short passes, checking each highlighted item before collecting it.
Take identified useful finds and keep uncertain plants separate from food.
Return along the cleared street before the route becomes crowded or visibility drops.
Farming tips
Urban searches work as quick supplement runs; they do not guarantee the same food as a rural search.
A changed zone label is a practical signal to reposition instead of assuming the search area stayed constant.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat when supplies are low and the street approach remains clear; each trip’s finds vary with zone, season, and current Build 42 mechanics.
Common mistakes
Foraging from pavement because vegetation looks close; confirm the zone in the panel and move into suitable ground.
Pushing through town for a marginal search area; choose a nearer strip or postpone the run.
Eating an unidentified find on a quick trip; identify it before use or leave it behind.
When to stop or switch
End the sweep when the zone changes, the street retreat is no longer clear, or you have enough useful finds for the return trip.
