Hatcher Remains acquisition

Explore until you find a Flying Crab Hatcher, defeat it, and collect the remains. Use the remains for research or, with the recipe unlocked, feed them into a Constructor for Alien Protein.

Hatcher Remains come from defeated Flying Crab Hatcher creatures. Collect them for MAM research, or use them as the matching input to the Hatcher Protein recipe in a Constructor to produce Alien Protein. These remains are creature loot, not a mineral deposit. The key step is identifying and defeating the Hatcher; the flying crabs it spawns are a different source of loot.

How to farm

Before you go

A Flying Crab Hatcher to defeat.
Inventory space for the remains.
For Alien Protein: Hatcher Protein recipe unlocked and a Constructor.

Prepare for combat and explore until you identify a Flying Crab Hatcher.
Defeat the Hatcher and approach its loot.
Collect the Hatcher Remains into your inventory.
Take the remains to the MAM if you need them for research.
To produce Alien Protein, unlock Hatcher Protein and bring the remains to a Constructor.
Provide power and feed the remains into the Constructor recipe.
Collect the Alien Protein output or keep unprocessed remains for another use.

Farming tips

Collect the matching Hatcher loot; spawned flying crabs are not the Hatcher Remains source.
Keep remains in inventory if you still need them for research before processing them.

Repeat, collect and use

Find and defeat another Flying Crab Hatcher whenever you need more remains.

Common mistakes

Collecting spawned flying crab drops and expecting them to count as Hatcher Remains.
Searching for a mineral node or expecting the remains to be made from factory inputs.

When to stop or switch

Stop hunting once you have enough remains for the research and Alien Protein batches you plan to complete.
