Fiber and Plant Fiber

Keep a field supply of Fiber for crafting and convert it to Fiber String when a recipe calls for the processed material.

WHERE & HOW TO FARM

Where to farm

Oak Forest saplings and ground cover, including Sprigs, Rye, Foxtail, Sorrel and Cattail.

Fiber is gathered from plants in the Oak Forest, so a reliable supply comes from harvesting plant patches while moving through the region. Bring the raw material home and check the recipe before processing it: Fiber and Fiber String are different inventory items.

GET STARTED

How to farm

Before you go

  • A harvesting tool suited to the plants you plan to gather.
  • Inventory room for Fiber and incidental Wood or Resin.
  • A Workbench or Loom & Spindle if the target recipe needs Fiber String.
  1. Choose Fiber as the trip’s target and travel to Oak Forest plant patches.
  2. Harvest Saplings, Sprigs, Rye, Foxtail, Sorrel or Cattail; these are listed Fiber sources.
  3. Check the pickup after the first few harvests so you confirm the target plant is yielding the material you need.
  4. Continue through nearby plant patches, prioritizing Saplings and Rye when you want Fiber alongside other useful materials.
  5. Return when your inventory is nearing capacity or the required recipe amount is covered.
  6. At home, store raw Fiber separately from other plant materials.
  7. If the recipe specifically requires Fiber String, craft it at the appropriate station and take the processed stack to the recipe station.

Farming tips

  • Saplings can also provide Wood and Resin, so harvest them on a building-material run.
  • Keep some Fiber raw until you have checked upcoming recipes; processing everything can leave you short of the base material.

Repeat, collect and use

This is a repeatable gathering loop: revisit plant patches and harvest available sources whenever you need more Fiber. No fixed yield or respawn interval is assumed.

Common mistakes

  • Searching for creature drops: focus on the named plant sources instead.
  • Treating Fiber and Fiber String as interchangeable: check the recipe’s exact item name before processing.
  • Filling your pack with incidental materials: leave room for Fiber or return to base before continuing.

When to stop or switch

Stop once you have the amount required for your next recipe and a small reserve, or switch to another Oak Forest resource if Fiber is no longer the limiting ingredient.
