WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
Spider Cocoons and Silk-dropping spiders in regions you have reached; process the gathered Silk at a Loom & Spindle.
Silk Thread is made from Silk at a Loom & Spindle. Collect the raw material from listed spider sources or Spider Cocoons, then process only the amount your current recipe needs. Spider areas carry combat risk, and cocoon collection has a tool requirement, so prepare before setting out. Keep raw Silk separate if another recipe calls for it.
Weapon and armor suited to the spider area you plan to visit.
Flint Shears for opening Spider Cocoons.
Inventory space for Silk and other drops.
A Loom & Spindle for processing.
Check the Loom & Spindle recipe and decide how much Silk Thread you need.
Choose a reachable spider area and equip for its local threats.
Search for Spider Cocoons and spiders listed as Silk sources.
Use Flint Shears to open cocoons and collect any Silk they yield.
Defeat only the spiders you can handle safely, then check their drops for Silk.
Return when you have enough raw Silk or your pack is filling.
At the Loom & Spindle, process Silk into Silk Thread as required.
Store any remaining raw Silk separately from the finished thread.
Farming tips
Silk and Silk Thread are different items; match the recipe’s exact name before processing.
Bring Flint Shears specifically for Spider Cocoons.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat cocoon and spider collection as needed, then spin the Silk at the Loom & Spindle. Drops vary, so base the next trip on the amount actually collected.
Common mistakes
Searching plant patches for Silk: use Spider Cocoons or listed spider sources.
Trying to make thread at another station: process it at a Loom & Spindle.
Opening cocoons without Flint Shears: bring the listed cutting tool.
When to stop or switch
Stop when your target recipe has enough Silk Thread, then switch to whichever remaining ingredient is short.
