WHERE & HOW TO FARM

Where to farm

A Fish Pond on the farm, with a Preserves Jar nearby for processing.

Stock a pond with a fish, fulfill its requests to expand capacity, collect roe when available, and process the roe in a Preserves Jar.

GET STARTED

How to farm

Before you go

  • Constructed Fish Pond and at least one fish to stock it.
  • Preserves Jar for processing roe.
  • Inventory space to collect requests and pond output.
  1. Place or use a Fish Pond on the farm and add the fish you intend to raise.
  2. Check the pond’s population and wait for any item request that blocks further growth.
  3. Collect the requested item and place it into the pond to satisfy the request; capacity can increase after requests are fulfilled.
  4. Check the pond periodically for roe and collect it when available.
  5. Move roe to a Preserves Jar to process it rather than shipping it raw if processed output is your goal.
  6. For Sturgeon roe, collect the finished Caviar from the jar; other fish roe becomes Aged Roe.
  7. Store or sell the processed goods according to your current income and collection needs.

Farming tips

  • Keep a chest beside the pond for requested items and collected roe so the loop is easy to manage.
  • The fish species determines the output path; Sturgeon is the specific route for Caviar.

Repeat, collect and use

Repeat pond checks, fulfill new requests when they appear, collect roe, and process each batch. Pond growth and requests are ongoing, but output is not an immediate guaranteed daily yield.

Common mistakes

  • Ignoring a pond request and expecting capacity to grow; supply the requested item when possible.
  • Putting roe in storage indefinitely when processing is the aim; transfer it to the Preserves Jar.
  • Assuming all roe becomes Caviar; only Sturgeon roe produces Caviar, while other roe becomes Aged Roe.

When to stop or switch

Stop expanding the pond when its population and output fit your needs; switch to another fish or processing chain if the current product is no longer useful.
