Collect crafting materials from Control Points

A captured Control Point’s reward container and nearby resource nodes provide a practical materials sweep alongside open-world combat.

PC / Global, Year 8 Season 3: Red Horizon (Update Y8S3.2)
WHERE & HOW TO FARM

Where to farm

A captured open-world Control Point, its supply room, and nearby faction resource containers in Washington, D.C. or Manhattan.

Control Point captures combine a marked reward container with separate nearby resource pickups. Clear the site, open the reward container, and then check nearby nodes for materials your current crafting plans need. Alert level affects the reward and challenge, but the available route supports collecting generic materials rather than guaranteeing a particular resource such as SHD Calibration.

GET STARTED

How to farm

Before you go

  • Access to an open-world district with a Control Point you can capture.
  • Inventory capacity for the materials you plan to collect.
  • A build that can handle the Control Point at its current alert level.
  1. Open the map and choose a Control Point in a district you can reach; check your materials inventory before heading out.
  2. If you want a larger reward and can manage more difficulty, complete linked activities shown on the map to raise the Control Point’s alert level.
  3. Travel to the point and clear the hostile defenders. Call friendly reinforcements after combat starts if you need their support.
  4. Finish the capture and wait for the Control Point to become friendly, which gives access to its supply room.
  5. Enter the supply room and open the marked reward container; collect its contents before leaving.
  6. Sweep nearby resource containers and nodes around the Control Point for additional materials. These pickups are separate from the supply-room reward.
  7. Check your inventory, then use the materials at a crafting or recalibration interface that lists them as requirements.

Farming tips

  • The reward container and nearby resource nodes are separate pickups, so search both areas after the capture.
  • Higher alert levels increase the challenge and affect rewards; choose a level you can clear consistently when materials are the priority.

Repeat, collect and use

Repeat the capture-and-loot route at another Control Point. A cleared point’s reward container follows the game’s container reset schedule; nearby node availability can vary, so collect what is present rather than assuming an immediate reset or fixed yield.

Common mistakes

  • Assuming the title guarantees SHD Calibration; this route supports a generic materials sweep, so check the actual inventory drops for the resource you need.
  • Leaving after the fight without opening the reward container; clearing and claiming the supply-room reward are separate actions.
  • Raising alert level beyond what your build can handle; stop increasing it when the extra difficulty risks repeated wipes.

When to stop or switch

Stop when you have the materials your current crafting plan requires or reach the relevant inventory caps; move to crafting or a different point instead of repeating a capped sweep.
