Where to farm
Moon Cultist groups encountered while exploring Washington, D.C. during Red Moon Unleashed, October 15–November 3, 2026.
During Red Moon Unleashed, defeating Moon Cultists in Washington, D.C. earns Event Keys after a difficulty-based kill threshold. This is a limited-time farm: unused keys are removed when the event ends, so spend or contribute them before November 3, 2026.
Reach the Base of Operations event vendor to spend or contribute keys.
Choose a difficulty you can clear reliably; Lunatic enemies may explode on death.
Travel through D.C. and look for Moon Cultist groups among the regular factions.
Defeat the Cultists and track the event notification or progress toward the kill threshold for your current difficulty.
Continue defeating Cultists until the game awards an Event Key. Revenant Bounty enemies do not count toward this threshold.
Take advantage of the daily boost when active: it halves the kill requirement for your first 150 Cultist kills that day.
Return to the Base of Operations and locate the event vendor among the seasonal decorations.
Spend keys on Apparel or Gear Caches, or contribute them to the Community Challenge; claim completed rewards at the vendor.
Farming tips
The daily boost resets at 08:00 UTC; check the event display if you are unsure whether it has refreshed.
Heavy and Blood Storms can bring more Cultists, but Lunatic enemies hit harder and explode when killed, so leave space around them.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat Cultist encounters throughout the event to earn more keys. The kill-threshold farm is repeatable until November 3; unused Event Keys are removed at event end. The available facts do not establish what happens to other unclaimed rewards.
Common mistakes
Counting Revenant Bounty kills toward the Cultist threshold; they do not count, though completing a bounty awards a key separately.
Leaving keys unspent until after the event; use them or contribute them before November 3 because unused keys are removed.
Finishing a Lunatic enemy at close range; create distance before the killing blow to avoid its blast.
When to stop or switch
Stop once you have the keys and personal milestones you want, then spend or contribute your remaining keys before the event closes.
