WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
Waystone Altars encountered along the Chaos Wastes pilgrimage route.
Waystone Altars let an Expedition party exchange Pilgrim’s Coins for weapons. The item is part of the current Wastes build, not persistent campaign equipment. Altar prices vary, and costlier offers can be stronger, so compare the displayed weapon with your current run weapon and the coins you may need later. Passing on a poor offer is a valid choice when the team has a better use for its currency.
Start a Chaos Wastes Expedition and collect Pilgrim’s Coins.
Know which character’s run weapon is weakest or least suited to the team.
Review the altar’s displayed cost and item before confirming a purchase.
Follow the chosen pilgrimage route until a Waystone Altar is available.
Approach and inspect the weapon offer and required coin cost.
Compare the offer with your current expedition weapon and your remaining route needs.
If the weapon is useful and affordable, spend the displayed coins to acquire it.
Equip or use the weapon for the remainder of the run as appropriate.
If the offer is poor or too costly, keep the coins and continue along the route.
Reassess at a later altar, remembering that the expedition build ends with the run.
Farming tips
Higher-priced altar gifts tend to be stronger, but evaluate the actual offer rather than buying by price alone.
Keep enough flexibility for later boons or shrine opportunities instead of spending the entire coin supply immediately.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat whenever an altar offers a worthwhile weapon during an Expedition. Purchases are temporary and there is no persistent weapon collection from these altars.
Common mistakes
Buying an upgrade without checking what the altar offers; compare it with your current weapon first.
Spending all coins at the first altar; preserve currency for later opportunities that may fit the build better.
Expecting the weapon to appear in the Keep after the run; Waystone weapons belong to that Expedition.
When to stop or switch
Stop shopping when the offer does not improve the run enough to justify its cost; continue the route and reassess at the next altar.
