Take advantage of a Patch 6.6 coin source during Chaos Wastes encounters.

WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
Loot rat encounters during an active Chaos Wastes Expedition.
Loot rats can drop Pilgrim’s Coins in Chaos Wastes Expeditions following the Patch 6.6 change. This is an additional source of run currency alongside scattered coin caskets. The coins can be spent at shrines for weapons, boons, and favour during that same pilgrimage. The drop is an opportunity, not a guaranteed payout from every rat, so keep gathering coins from the environment and do not build a route around a promised rat spawn.
Stay aware of loot rat encounters while progressing the map.
Be ready to collect any coins dropped during the encounter.
Advance through the Expedition while keeping the team together.
Watch for a loot rat during map encounters.
Engage it when the party can do so without compromising a more dangerous fight.
After defeating it, check the area for dropped Pilgrim’s Coins.
Collect coins that are visible and safe to reach.
Add them to the run’s available shrine budget.
Spend them before the Expedition ends, alongside coins found in caskets.
Farming tips
Loot rats are an opportunity rather than a scheduled farming target; continue the normal pilgrimage if none appears.
Collect environmental caskets too, since the rat drop is not guaranteed.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat opportunistically during Expeditions whenever loot rats appear. Coins are temporary and reset between runs; the encounter itself is not a repeatable fixed node.
Common mistakes
Assuming every loot rat drops coins; treat the source as a chance and use caskets too.
Leaving dropped currency behind without checking the area after the fight.
Expecting the coins to remain in campaign inventory after the Expedition.
When to stop or switch
Stop pursuing a rat if doing so would endanger the party; otherwise collect its coins and continue the main route.
