WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
Corvo Bianco in Toussaint, after receiving the Mutagenator from Regis in Blood and Wine.
After the relevant Blood and Wine progression, Regis gives Geralt the Mutagenator, which can be used at Corvo Bianco. It tracks monster kills and becomes active after its displayed threshold is met; the recorded charge threshold is 100 kills. Activating a charged device yields one greater mutagen, but its color is random, so it is not a targeted red-mutagen route. Build charge while completing contracts and other monster activities, claim the reward when ready, and use it in mutation progression. This turns normal hunting into a secondary resource loop without requiring a separate grind route.
Own Blood and Wine and progress far enough to receive the Mutagenator from Regis.
Have access to Corvo Bianco and the device.
Defeat monsters through contracts, routes, or other regular combat.
Complete the Blood and Wine progression that awards the Mutagenator from Regis.
Return to Corvo Bianco and locate the device.
Check its displayed kill charge so you know whether it is ready.
Continue defeating monsters during contracts and other normal activities until the device reports activation.
Interact with the charged Mutagenator to claim its greater mutagen.
Check the color received; treat it as a variable bonus rather than a chosen result.
Continue your normal monster route to build charge again, then spend the mutagen in a relevant mutation slot.
Farming tips
Use contracts and monster encounters you already planned to complete; the charge can accumulate alongside other progression.
Keep track of which greater colors your mutation plan needs, but do not count on the Mutagenator to provide a specific one.
Repeat, collect and use
The device can be charged and activated repeatedly after it is unlocked. Each activation consumes a completed charge, and the reward color is random; the documented threshold is 100 monster kills per charge.
Common mistakes
Do not look for the device before its Blood and Wine reward has been obtained from Regis.
Do not stop at a partial charge; wait until the device reports that it is active.
Do not treat this as a targeted red farm; use Drowned Dead or other chance-based routes when pursuing red specifically.
When to stop or switch
Stop tracking the charge once you have claimed the greater mutagen you need, or continue passively while pursuing other monster objectives.
