Earn Specialization XP from unfinished side missions

Once Specializations unlock after the campaign, XP from optional quests also moves their progression forward. Clearing unfinished side missions gives you a defined quest-and-reward loop while working toward more Specialization points.

WHERE & HOW TO FARM

Where to farm

Uncompleted side-mission markers across Kairos, tracked from the ECHO map and Missions menu after the main story.

Use the completed-mission list and map markers to find side missions you have not finished, then complete their objectives and collect the turn-in XP. This is a finite route: each quest clears once, so it suits players who still have optional missions left and want to pair exploration with Specialization progress. Points come from XP; check the Specialization screen after quest turn-ins and allocate any points available.

GET STARTED

How to farm

Before you go

  • Finish the main campaign and unlock Specializations.
  • Have at least one unfinished side mission available.
  • Be able to reach the mission area and meet any objective-specific access requirements.
  1. Open the Missions menu and identify a side mission that is not marked complete.
  2. Track it, then use the ECHO map to locate its start marker and travel there.
  3. Accept or resume the mission from its marked quest giver or objective.
  4. Follow the active objective markers through the mission; complete required encounters and interact with highlighted objects.
  5. Finish the final objective and return to the marked turn-in point if the mission requests it.
  6. Collect the mission completion XP and any displayed quest reward.
  7. Open the Specialization interface, check for points earned through XP, and spend them in your chosen tree.
  8. Choose another unfinished side mission from the map and repeat while suitable quests remain.

Farming tips

  • Favor side missions in regions you are already exploring to reduce backtracking while still completing their full objective chains.
  • Check mission status before traveling; completed quests are one-time and will not provide another completion turn-in.

Repeat, collect and use

Each side mission can be completed once per character. The collection loop is to clear available unfinished quests, collect their XP at completion, spend resulting Specialization points, and move to another uncompleted mission; there is no repeat reset for completed side missions.

Common mistakes

  • Revisiting a completed quest for another turn-in: verify it is unfinished in the Missions menu before making the trip.
  • Leaving before the marked turn-in or final objective: follow the active mission marker until completion registers and rewards are collected.
  • Expecting a fixed number of Specialization points per quest: XP progression varies with play, so check the Specialization interface after earning XP.

When to stop or switch

Stop when the remaining side missions are complete or their travel and objectives no longer suit your session; continue Specialization progression through another available XP activity.
