CRAFTING & INGREDIENTS

Object Scanner acquisition

Use the Equipment Workshop after unlocking the Object Scanner recipe. Equip the finished Scanner, select an item to search for, and follow its audio cues as you move.

The Object Scanner is handheld equipment that searches for a selected item. Its beeps indicate direction and change rate with proximity, helping you look for the target in the surrounding area. Craft it manually in the Equipment Workshop using Reinforced Iron Plates, Wire, and Screws. Keep one available if you plan to craft a Nobelisk Detonator, which also uses an Object Scanner.

GET STARTED

How to craft

Before you craft

  • Object Scanner recipe unlocked
  • 4 Reinforced Iron Plates, 20 Wire, and 50 Screws
  1. Unlock the Object Scanner recipe through progression.
  2. Gather 4 Reinforced Iron Plates, 20 Wire, and 50 Screws.
  3. Open the Equipment Workshop and select Object Scanner.
  4. Complete the manual craft and equip the Scanner.
  5. Select a target item, then move in the direction indicated by the beeps and watch for changes in their rate.

Crafting tips

  • The Scanner reports relative proximity and direction; use its cues while exploring the area.
  • The Scanner is an ingredient in the Nobelisk Detonator recipe, so keep one available if you want to make that equipment.
  • You can make Wire and Screws in Constructors and Reinforced Iron Plates in an Assembler.

Repeat, collect and use

Use the Scanner again by selecting the target you want to locate. Craft another only when you need a spare or one for a Nobelisk Detonator.

Common mistakes

  • Looking for an Object Scanner deposit or trying to manufacture it in a factory machine.
  • Expecting its beeps to show an exact position instead of directional and proximity cues.

When to stop or switch

Stop scanning when you have found the target you were searching for.
