The Canola-to-oil chain supplies an industrial output for downstream uses when the faction and processing setup support it.

WHERE & HOW TO FARM
Where to farm
Irrigated Canola blocks inside an Iron Teeth farmhouse work area, with a Press and reachable storage for Canola and oil.
Grow Canola with a compatible Iron Teeth farmhouse, then send the harvest to a Press for oil. This is a crop and processing chain, not a general food field. Confirm that the Press is available in the current edition and that its operating needs are met before committing a large irrigated area.
An Iron Teeth farmhouse that offers Canola and has workers.
Suitable irrigated blocks within its displayed work area.
A Press, connected to the required power or operating conditions shown in-game.
Storage and paths linking the field, Press, and downstream oil users.
Check the farmhouse crop list for Canola and confirm the Press is available to build.
Place and staff the farmhouse so its work area covers irrigated field blocks.
Mark the selected blocks as Canola using Plant Crops and verify water access.
Place the Press where it can receive harvested Canola and connect its required power supply.
Provide a clear output route and storage for oil, keeping it distinct from food stock.
Check the Press status and inventories; address missing input, power, or hauling before increasing acreage.
Send oil to the downstream production buildings that use it, and keep the Canola field maintained.
Farming tips
Farmhouse crop compatibility is faction-specific; do not assume Folktails fields can grow Iron Teeth Canola.
Keep the field irrigated and check the Press’s operating status before adding crop capacity.
Repeat, collect and use
Repeat planting, harvesting, pressing, and oil delivery while Canola remains available and the field, Press, power, and hauling route can operate. Oil production is not a one-time collection.
Common mistakes
Choosing an incompatible farmhouse: confirm Canola appears in its crop choices before planting.
Building a field without an operating Press: check availability and required power first.
Sending oil into food storage: use an appropriate reachable storage destination and keep production goods organized.
When to stop or switch
Stop expanding Canola when oil storage is adequate or the downstream user cannot consume more; switch labor or irrigated blocks to a crop that better serves current needs.
