Where to farm
The basic Ursine armor diagrams are in the ruined castle on Urialla Isle; upgrade map leads are sold by the Kaer Trolde armorer.
Ursine gear is a heavy Witcher set with armor, swords, and a crossbow. Its basic armor diagrams are in a ruined castle on Urialla Isle in Skellige, and the later upgrade diagrams are found through treasure hunts. Read the relevant notes and maps to reveal leads, then explore the locations and bring each diagram to a capable smith. The basic armor is associated with a level 20 requirement. The Grandmaster stage is a separate Blood and Wine hunt begun with Lazare Lafargue in Toussaint.
Be prepared for hostile creatures, including a rabid rock troll and sirens.
Have access to an armorer or blacksmith capable of crafting the relevant tier.
For Grandmaster upgrades, own Blood and Wine and reach Lafargue in Beauclair.
Travel to Urialla Harbor and follow the path toward the Trail to Yngvar’s Fang signpost.
Continue along the cliff path to the ruined castle, handling the troll and sirens as needed.
Enter the ruin, navigate the interior and reach the chest containing the basic armor diagrams.
Read the notes found with the diagrams to reveal the sword and crossbow diagram leads.
Search the revealed locations and collect the Ursine weapon diagrams you want to craft.
Visit the Kaer Trolde armorer and obtain the relevant Ibrahim Savi maps for upgrade treasure hunts.
Follow the map quest markers through the enhanced, superior, and mastercrafted diagram searches; visit Lafargue for the separate Grandmaster hunt if you own Blood and Wine.
Farming tips
Read the documents you collect; they reveal follow-up locations rather than merely filling inventory.
Avoid starting a diagram hunt without enough preparation for its guarded ruins and caves.
Repeat, collect and use
Diagram hunts are one-time collection steps. You can craft or upgrade further pieces whenever you have the required diagrams and materials, but the treasure locations do not reset.
Common mistakes
Do not search for every Ursine diagram at the Urialla Isle castle; some weapon and upgrade diagrams are elsewhere.
Do not forget to read the notes and maps that unlock later leads.
Do not expect Grandmaster diagrams without Blood and Wine; those hunts begin separately in Toussaint.
When to stop or switch
Stop once you have the diagrams for the Ursine pieces and tier you plan to use; switch to gathering their specific crafting materials before pursuing more diagrams.
