Starts the Blood and Wine quest chain that reveals where to search for Grandmaster diagrams.

PC / Global, Complete Edition with Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine
WHERE & HOW TO FARM

Where to farm

Lafargue’s workshop in Beauclair, Toussaint.

Lazare Lafargue is the Grandmaster Smith in Beauclair and the entry point for the Grandmaster treasure hunts. Speak with him to begin “Master Master Master Master!” and obtain leads to the diagram searches. The hunts are exploration objectives, not repeatable material farms: collect the diagrams for the school you want, then return to Lafargue with the required materials. Grandmaster equipment belongs to Blood and Wine and is the fifth Witcher gear tier; it is equipable at level 40.

GET STARTED

How to farm

Before you go

  • Own the Blood and Wine expansion and reach Toussaint.
  • Reach Beauclair and locate Lafargue’s workshop.
  • Bring adequate equipment and supplies for the diagram-search areas.
  1. Visit Lafargue at his Beauclair workshop and speak with him about Grandmaster Witcher gear.
  2. Accept “Master Master Master Master!” to begin the diagram hunt leads.
  3. Choose the Witcher school set you plan to pursue before gathering materials for every set.
  4. Follow the relevant treasure hunt and search its marked locations for the Grandmaster diagrams.
  5. Collect the diagrams and any useful crafting materials encountered on the way.
  6. Return to Lafargue and review the components needed for each selected piece.
  7. Gather missing components and have him craft the pieces you intend to equip at level 40.

Farming tips

  • Focus on a school whose bonuses and play style suit your build; the expensive materials make indiscriminate crafting costly.
  • Use the diagram hunt as a checklist: a set requires several pieces, so record which diagrams you have already secured.

Repeat, collect and use

Starting the quest and collecting each diagram are one-time progression steps. You can craft eligible pieces as materials allow, but the diagram hunts do not reset as a farming loop.

Common mistakes

  • Do not assume Grandmaster gear is available in the base game; it requires Blood and Wine and access to Toussaint.
  • Do not plan to equip the set before level 40; collect diagrams earlier only if you are preparing ahead.
  • Do not confuse Lafargue’s hunt start with completed gear; each piece still requires its diagram and materials.

When to stop or switch

Stop the hunt when you have the diagrams for the school and pieces you intend to craft; switch to material gathering or another set only if it supports your build.
