Where to farm
The Siren’s Cave on Svorlag, Fort Etnir on central Skellige, and the basement of the ruined inn southeast of Fyresdal.
The Ursine silver sword, steel sword, and crossbow diagrams require separate exploration from the basic armor chest. Reading the notes found with the armor diagrams reveals leads for the silver sword and crossbow; a letter found with the silver sword diagram points to the steel sword. The locations involve guarded caves, fort ruins, and a ruined inn, so prepare for different enemy types at each stop. This is a one-time diagram collection chain; take the plans to a capable blacksmith and gather the recipe materials before crafting. Crossbows do not have Witcher gear upgrade diagrams.
Reach Skellige and discover or unlock the relevant diagram leads by reading the Ursine armor documents.
Prepare for drowners, sirens, wraiths, and gargoyles at the separate sites.
Have access to a blacksmith and the materials for the weapon recipes.
Bring suitable equipment for caves and ruins.
Collect the Chronicles of Clan Tuirseach from the basic armor diagram chest and read it.
Travel to Siren’s Cave on Svorlag and search past the Old Watchtower for the Ursine silver sword diagram.
Loot and read Knight Chalmir’s Letter found with the silver sword diagram.
Go to Fort Etnir, following the trail east and north of Rogne, and search the ruins for the crossbow diagram.
Travel southeast from Fyresdal to the ruined inn and explore its basement for the steel sword diagram.
Return to a blacksmith and compare the materials required for the diagrams you collected.
Craft the weapon pieces you plan to use; keep in mind the crossbow has no Witcher gear upgrade diagrams.
Farming tips
Read every relevant document on the route; one clue reveals the steel sword location.
Prepare separately for each site’s enemies instead of assuming all three hunts have the same difficulty.
Repeat, collect and use
Each weapon diagram hunt is a one-time collection objective. Crafting requires materials, and the crossbow does not have a tiered upgrade diagram chain.
Common mistakes
Do not search for every Ursine weapon in the armor castle; the silver sword, steel sword, and crossbow are elsewhere.
Do not miss the letter that reveals the steel sword location.
Do not plan to upgrade the Witcher crossbow through later diagram tiers.
When to stop or switch
Stop when you have the weapon diagrams that fit your build; move to crafting or the armor upgrade chain rather than repeating cleared searches.
