Where to farm
Start at the Kaer Trolde armorer on Ard Skellig and follow the treasure-hunt markers revealed by Ibrahim Savi’s maps.
Ursine armor upgrades are gathered through treasure hunts rather than random drops. Ibrahim Savi’s maps, sold by the Kaer Trolde armorer, reveal the quest leads for enhanced, superior, and mastercrafted diagrams. Buying and reading the maps gives you a clear progression route through Skellige and other marked locations; each diagram must still be found and each upgrade crafted with the required materials. The map purchases and diagram searches are one-time progression tasks, while crafting is limited by your components. This is the armor upgrade chain, separate from collecting basic gear or pursuing Grandmaster equipment in Toussaint.
Have crowns to buy the relevant Ibrahim Savi maps from the armorer.
Possess or plan to craft the matching Ursine armor tier.
Have access to a smith for the upgrades once diagrams are collected.
Visit the armorer at Kaer Trolde and inspect the available Ibrahim Savi maps.
Buy the map for the Ursine upgrade tier you are ready to pursue.
Read the map in your inventory to activate its treasure-hunt lead.
Track the resulting quest and travel to its marked search area.
Explore the site and retrieve the Ursine upgrade diagrams from their indicated containers or locations.
Repeat with the next map to pursue the following upgrade tier.
Bring diagrams and materials to a suitable armorer and craft the upgrade for the corresponding Ursine piece.
Farming tips
Buy and read maps in sequence so each hunt is easy to track in the quest log.
Collect only the tier you can use or craft next if crowns and materials are tight.
Repeat, collect and use
Purchasing and reading maps unlocks one-time diagram hunts; the same treasure-hunt diagrams do not respawn. You can craft upgrades again only if you obtain the required materials.
Common mistakes
Do not expect the map to craft an upgrade; it reveals a search that still requires finding diagrams and gathering materials.
Do not forget to read purchased maps, since possession alone does not provide the route marker.
Do not pursue an upgrade tier without the preceding Ursine gear piece it improves.
When to stop or switch
Stop once you have the diagrams for your intended armor tier; switch to gathering its recipe materials before moving on to another school’s treasure hunt.
