Dissolved Silica is a liquid coproduct of the optional Alternate: Quartz Purification recipe. A Refinery consumes 24 Raw Quartz and 2 m³ Nitric Acid per batch, producing 15 Quartz Crystals and 12 m³ Dissolved Silica. At 100% clock, that is 75 Quartz Crystals and 60 m³ Dissolved Silica per minute, using 120 Raw Quartz and 10 m³ Nitric Acid per minute. Unlock the alternate recipe before building this line, then provide outlets for both products.

How to craft
Run Alternate: Quartz Purification in a Refinery. Pipe the Dissolved Silica to a consumer such as a Blender using the unlocked Alternate: Distilled Silica recipe; route Quartz Crystals separately.
Before you craft
Unlocked Alternate: Quartz Purification recipe and Refinery.
Raw Quartz and Nitric Acid.
Pipes and output handling for Dissolved Silica and Quartz Crystals.
Unlock Alternate: Quartz Purification; it is not the default Quartz recipe.
Set a Refinery to that recipe and connect Raw Quartz and Nitric Acid.
At 100% clock, supply 120 Raw Quartz and 10 m³ Nitric Acid per minute.
Route both outputs: 75 Quartz Crystals and 60 m³ Dissolved Silica per minute.
Send the liquid to a Blender only if Alternate: Distilled Silica is unlocked and desired.
Check both output paths if the Refinery backs up or stops.
Crafting tips
Each batch produces 15 Quartz Crystals and 12 m³ Dissolved Silica.
Dissolved Silica is a liquid measured in cubic metres.
Provide Nitric Acid as a fluid input, not as a solid item.
Repeat, collect and use
Keep both Refinery outputs clear and balance production against demand for Quartz Crystals and Dissolved Silica.
Common mistakes
Do not search for a Dissolved Silica node; it is made as a coproduct by the alternate recipe.
