How to craft Nitric Acid
Quantities below are per complete recipe batch. Rates are for one machine at 100% clock. Keep every output moving so byproducts do not block production.
Use a Blender for direct production from gas and water, or select Unpackage Nitric Acid in a Packager to process packaged acid. Pipe liquid acid to its consumer.
Nitric Acid is a liquid used in processes such as Non-Fissile Uranium and Rocket Fuel production. You can make it in a Blender from Nitrogen Gas, Water, and Iron Plates, or convert Packaged Nitric Acid back into liquid in a Packager. The unpackage recipe also returns an Empty Fluid Tank, so plan a route for both outputs. Choose the recipe that fits your supply and receiving setup.

How to craft
Before you craft
For Blender production: Blender, 12 m³ Nitrogen Gas, 3 m³ Water, and 1 Iron Plate per batch
For unpackaging: Packager and 1 Packaged Nitric Acid per batch
Output handling for Nitric Acid and, when unpackaging, Empty Fluid Tanks
Unlock and place the machine for the recipe you plan to use.
For Blender production, connect Nitrogen Gas, Water, and Iron Plate supplies.
For the Packager route, belt in Packaged Nitric Acid and provide a belt or container for Empty Fluid Tanks.
Connect a pipe from the Nitric Acid output to storage or the consuming process.
Start the machine and check both supply and output routes if production stops.
Crafting tips
The Blender batch uses 12 m³ Nitrogen Gas, 3 m³ Water, and 1 Iron Plate to produce 3 m³ Nitric Acid.
Unpackaging converts 1 Packaged Nitric Acid into 1 m³ Nitric Acid and 1 Empty Fluid Tank.
The Packager route converts packaged acid; it does not synthesize acid from gas and water.
Repeat, collect and use
Continue supplying the selected recipe and clearing its outputs while consumers need Nitric Acid. Keep the gas and water lines supplied if using the Blender.
Common mistakes
Expecting the unpackage recipe to make Nitric Acid directly from Nitrogen Gas and Water.
Letting Empty Fluid Tanks back up at the Packager output.
When to stop or switch
Stop when the receiving processes have enough Nitric Acid for the planned production run.
