Water is a liquid resource used by multiple production recipes, including Residual Rubber, Residual Plastic, Nitric Acid, Biochemical Sculptor, and Cooling System. It is extracted from water sources rather than crafted. The key bottleneck is a suitable accessible extraction point and enough pipe and pump capacity to deliver the required liquid to consumers.

GET STARTED

How to farm

Open the on-page resource map, filter for Water, inspect the listed water extraction or well options, and choose an accessible source. Use the correct extraction structure for that source: water extraction for water bodies, or a well structure for a well. The map shows standard layout and purity; version 1.2 includes optional resource and purity randomization, so match your world settings for node-based gathering.

Before you go

  • Accessible water extraction site or well.
  • Correct unlocked extraction structure and power.
  • Pipes and any needed pumps to carry water to consumers.
  1. Filter the resource map for Water and inspect source accessibility.
  2. If resource or purity randomization is enabled, match those settings before using the standard map for node-based gathering.
  3. Place the appropriate water extraction structure at the selected source.
  4. Connect power and pipe the output toward the factory.
  5. Add pumps where elevation or pipe flow requires them, then check that water reaches the intended machines.
  6. Feed water to a recipe consumer and monitor the line as production runs.

Farming tips

  • Keep water supply and pipe capacity aligned with the needs of all connected consumers.
  • Water extraction and wells require different extraction structures; choose based on the source.

Repeat, collect and use

Continue extraction while consumers need water and the pipe network can deliver it.

Common mistakes

  • Looking for Water as a solid item to mine with a Miner.
  • Using the wrong extraction structure or assuming the standard map reflects randomized node settings.

When to stop or switch

Stop or reduce extraction when demand is met or the distribution network cannot move the output reliably.
