CRAFTING & INGREDIENTS

Iron Ingot acquisition

Mine Iron Ore from a resource node, then send it to a powered Smelter running the Iron Ingot recipe.

Iron Ingots are made by smelting Iron Ore and feed many early production lines, including Iron Plates and Iron Rods. The default recipe runs in a Smelter: each batch consumes 1 Iron Ore and produces 1 Iron Ingot. At 100% clock speed, a Smelter uses 30 ore and makes 30 ingots per minute. Keep ore transport and ingot demand balanced so the machine can run without its input or output backing up. Alternate recipes can use different ingredients and machines, and require their own unlocks.

How to craft

Before you craft

Unlock the Smelter and Iron Ingot recipe.
Iron Ore, power, and a way to move ore and ingots.

Find an Iron Ore node using the in-game map or by exploring.
Choose a node you can reach and place a Miner on it.
Connect power and an output belt or other transport to carry ore away.
Build and power a Smelter, then select Iron Ingot.
Feed Iron Ore into the Smelter and route the ingots to storage or the next production line.
Check the machine input and output after production starts; adjust transport if either side stalls.

Crafting tips

The default recipe consumes 30 Iron Ore and produces 30 Iron Ingots per minute at 100% clock speed.
Use ingots for parts such as Iron Plates and Iron Rods, or for another unlocked recipe that accepts them.
If you unlock an alternate recipe, check its ingredients and machine before changing your line.

Repeat, collect and use

Keep the Smelter supplied and make room for ingots at its output. Add more smelting capacity when downstream demand exceeds the current line's supply.
