Steel Ingot acquisition

Use the resource map to locate accessible Iron Ore and Coal deposits. Place the appropriate Miner on each node, transport both outputs, and process them together in a Foundry.

Steel Ingots are made by combining Iron Ore and Coal in a Foundry. They supply production lines for parts such as Steel Beams and Steel Pipes. Find Iron Ore and Coal on the resource map, then mine both and bring them to the Foundry. The Foundry needs both materials, so balance the feeds to maintain output.

How to craft

Before you craft

A Foundry with the Steel Ingot recipe available.
Iron Ore and Coal delivered to the Foundry.
Power and a clear ingot output route.

Find an Iron Ore node on the map and check its purity and access.
Find a Coal node and plan a route to bring both resources to the same factory.
Place a Miner on each selected node and connect their outputs to the Foundry.
Build and power the Foundry, then select Steel Ingot.
Supply both inputs; each standard batch consumes 3 Iron Ore and 3 Coal and produces 3 Steel Ingots.
Send the ingots to storage or to a Steel Beam, Steel Pipe, or other production line.

Crafting tips

At 100% clock, the standard recipe processes 45 Iron Ore and 45 Coal per minute to produce 45 Steel Ingots per minute.
If resource or purity randomization is enabled for your world, use map settings that match it before choosing nodes.
Unlocked alternate recipes can change the Foundry inputs and yields.

Repeat, collect and use

Keep both raw material feeds balanced and the ingot output clear. Continue production to match downstream demand.

Common mistakes

Looking for Steel Ingots on a node instead of producing them in a Foundry.
Feeding Iron Ore without Coal, or Coal without Iron Ore, and expecting the standard recipe to run.

When to stop or switch

Stop or reduce Foundry production once ingot storage and connected consumers have enough.
