CRAFTING & INGREDIENTS

Steel Beam acquisition

Build a Constructor at your factory, select Steel Beam, and feed Steel Ingots into its input. Connect the output to storage or to the next production line.

Steel Beam is a factory-made construction part used in more advanced buildings and in recipes such as Versatile Framework and Encased Industrial Beam. Make it from Steel Ingots in a Constructor; there is no Steel Beam resource node to mine. A steady supply of ingots is the main requirement for keeping beam production running.

GET STARTED

How to craft

Before you craft

  • A Constructor with the Steel Beam recipe available.
  • Steel Ingots delivered to the Constructor.
  • Power and a clear output route.
  1. Unlock the Steel Beam recipe if it is not already available.
  2. Build and power a Constructor near your Steel Ingot supply.
  3. Select Steel Beam in the machine’s recipe list.
  4. Feed the Constructor Steel Ingots; each batch uses 4 ingots and produces 1 beam.
  5. Route the output to storage or directly to a consumer such as Versatile Framework production.
  6. Check the ingot feed and output route if production pauses.

Crafting tips

  • At 100% clock, the standard recipe uses 60 Steel Ingots and produces 15 Steel Beams per minute.
  • A Foundry makes Steel Ingots from Iron Ore and Coal, so inspect that supply if beams stop coming through.
  • Unlocked alternate recipes can also make Steel Beams, with different ingredients and machines.

Repeat, collect and use

Keep the Constructor supplied and its output clear. Continue making beams while construction or connected production needs them.

Common mistakes

  • Searching the world for a Steel Beam deposit instead of manufacturing the part.
  • Expecting continuous output when the Constructor is short on Steel Ingots or its output is blocked.

When to stop or switch

Stop or reduce production once your beam reserve and connected consumers have enough.
